Introduction
The people of Bani Israel were engaged in a war against the Palestinians, led by the formidable and powerful chief, Jaloot. No one in Bani Israel dared to face him in battle, knowing his strength. Jaloot, aware of their fear, taunted them by challenging anyone to face him in combat.
Prophet Dawood's Courage
Among the soldiers of Bani Israel was a young man named Dawood, who was not well-known. Nevertheless, filled with courage, he stepped forward to face Jaloot. Armed only with a simple catapult, Dawood aimed a stone at Jaloot's forehead, hitting him with such precision that Jaloot fell to the ground. Dawood then drew his sword and beheaded Jaloot, triumphing over the powerful enemy.
Prophet Dawood as King and Prophet
Following this victory, Prophet Dawood was made the king of Bani Israel, and Allah also made him a prophet. Allah decided to teach Prophet Dawood an important lesson about justice. One day, as Prophet Dawood was praying in his house, two men appeared by jumping over the wall.
The Test of Justice
One of the men spoke first, saying, "My friend owns 99 ewes, while I own just one. He demands that I give him my one ewe so that he can have 100 ewes." Prophet Dawood immediately responded, declaring, "A friend who demands such a thing is being unjust to his friend. A true friend cannot act in such a manner."
The Lesson Learned
Suddenly, the two men disappeared. Prophet Dawood realized that he had made a mistake by jumping to conclusions and not listening to both sides of the story. The two men were, in fact, angels sent by Allah to teach him the importance of patience and fairness in delivering justice.
Pearls of Wisdom
This story teaches us a valuable lesson about justice. When making decisions, especially those involving others, it is essential to listen to both sides carefully before arriving at a judgment. Hasty decisions, made without all the facts, can lead to injustice.
