Prophet Ibrahim and His Dream
Prophet Ibrahim and His Dream
A story about Prophet Ibrahim's faith in Allah and his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, based on a dream from Allah.

Introduction

Once, Prophet Ibrahim had a dream that he was slaughtering his son, Ismail. Ismail was a young man by then, and the dream made Prophet Ibrahim sad, as he was sure that this was Allah's message to him. Prophet Ibrahim shared the dream with his son, saying, "Son, I had a dream where I was offering you as a sacrifice to Allah."

Ismail's Response

Ismail, with unwavering faith, said, "Father, please obey the order that Allah has given you through the dream." He further advised, "O Father, put me upside down on the ground so that you will not be able to see my face and your emotions will not get the better of you, and your hand will not falter." Prophet Ibrahim agreed and laid his son on the ground.

The Test

Prophet Ibrahim raised his knife to sacrifice his son. However, just as he was about to strike, he heard a voice saying, "Ibrahim, do not sacrifice your son. Instead, take this sheep and sacrifice it."

Prophet Ibrahim looked nearby and saw a sheep, which he then sacrificed instead of his son, Ismail.
