Introduction
Buddha's cousin, Devdutt, was jealous of him and decided to kill Buddha. Knowing when Buddha would pass through a certain town, Devdutt brought a drunk elephant into the town to cause harm. The elephant was enraged and rushed toward Buddha.
Transformation
When the elephant charged at Buddha, his disciples ran away to save themselves, but Ananda stayed with Buddha. Buddha stood calmly, without fear, as the elephant approached. Just before reaching Buddha, the elephant stopped and became calm.
The Divine Blessing
The elephant, now peaceful, walked up to Buddha and bowed in respect. This miraculous event astonished everyone who witnessed it.
