The Mysterious Breaking of the Trunk
Natarajan was a sculptor, a devotee of Lord Ganesh. Every year, people bought his idols during festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Durga Pooja. One year, the village headman asked him to create a ten-foot statue of Lord Ganesh. This was a huge opportunity for Natarajan, and his entire family worked together to help him make the idol.
Discovering the Breakage
Once the first mould of the statue was complete, Natarajan placed the idol near a window and admired his craftsmanship. After locking the room, he went to bed, but the next morning, to his horror, the trunk of the idol was broken and lying on the floor. He couldn't figure out what went wrong.
Repetitive Failure
Natarajan repaired the idol, but the next morning, the trunk was again broken. Distressed, he and his family couldn't understand why it kept happening. His mother suggested that he pray to Lord Hanuman, as his "Sadesati" period was ongoing.
The Revelation
Despite his prayers and attempts, the trunk continued to break. In desperation, Natarajan and his son decided to stay in the room overnight to figure out what was happening. At around 2 a.m., they heard a noise coming from the window. To their surprise, they saw a cat jumping onto the trunk and breaking it as it pounced on a mouse below. Natarajan and his son smiled with relief, realizing that the mystery had a simple, logical explanation.
