Introduction
Yogiraj Shri Shankar Maharaj, a Siddhayogi and revered saint, had a devotee named Dr. Dhaneshwar. The doctor had a special idol of Lord Balkrishna, which he worshipped daily. The idol seemed to come alive, talking to him and even eating the prasad offered by him. The doctor was filled with joy and felt blessed by the divine presence.
The Doctor's Doubt
As time passed, the doctor began to doubt the reality of the experiences he was having with the idol. He wondered if it was all a figment of his imagination. He asked Lord Balkrishna to give him a sign, and the Lord responded by eating the prasad and removing a gold bangle from His hand. The doctor, though, was still unsure. Something within him felt that this might not be the absolute truth.
The Doctor's Decision
After much contemplation, the doctor made a bold decision. He picked up the idol and threw it out of the window, realizing that the experiences he had were not divine but the result of his own strong will. He understood that his attachment to the idol and the pride he felt for being a great devotee like Sant Namdev was leading him astray.
Shri Shankar Maharaj's Revelation
At that moment, Shri Shankar Maharaj clapped his hands and joyfully exclaimed, "The doctor's God is finally dead!" The doctor, in turn, laughed with him. He realized that by discarding the idol, he had also discarded his ego and pride, freeing himself from the illusion (Maya) that had been clouding his path to self-realization.
