Introduction
King Megh of Ayodhya was overjoyed when he learned that his queen was expecting. However, a complex situation arose involving a child and two women, both claiming to be his mother.
The Dispute Over the Child
One day, two women came to the king with a very young boy. They both claimed the child to be theirs. One woman even accused the other of trying to gain custody of the child to inherit his father's wealth. The child, too young to understand, was equally loved by both women, and there were no witnesses to clarify the situation. The king, deeply troubled, was unable to make a decision.
The Queen's Wisdom
Upon hearing the king's worries, the queen decided to step in and offer a solution. She declared that the matter would be put on hold until the soul in her womb was born and could provide wisdom to resolve the issue. The child and the property would be kept in the Prime Minister's custody until then.
The Real Mother Reveals Herself
One woman immediately accepted the queen's decision, but the other woman was inconsolable. She begged the queen to let her stay with the child, even if it meant giving up the wealth. Her deep attachment to the child revealed her true nature.
